Your skin is the largest organ in your body--take care of it organically! Think
Organic Organic Cosmetics Guide wants to get under your skin about cosmetics! You want all natural cosmetics. Safe, non-toxic cosmetics with no cancer-causing ingredients. That's a healthy concern, a given for yourself and for your family. What's not a given though, is whether the cosmetics you're using at present are 100% organic. Did you know? They may not be even twenty percent organic! If your
cosmetics are
commercially produced, name
brand
mainly, they most likely contain toxic chemicals. Questionable
ingredients. Ingredients
that are
being proven daily to be a
cause
of human cancers. Among Others Whenever you talk about the subject of organic cosmetics, one of the first logical questions that should be asked is: What's in them? You may not be aware of the fact that many cosmetics manufacturers use ingredients that are not safe for long-term use. Maybe not even for short term use! Why do they do that? you might ask. Well, firstly it's because they can, and secondly because it's profitable. As long as they can delay the Food and Drug Administration from investigating their products' safety, they will continue to use a certain ingredient, regardless of whether or not it might be unsafe or a cancer-causing ingredient. They are dedicated to profits, not accountability. Here's a short list of some of the ingredients used in non- organic cosmetics: Phenols (carbolic acid): Used in
shaving creams and
hand lotions. Fatal poisoning can
occur
through skin aborption.
Isopropyl Alcohol (isopropanol): Used in hair-color rinses, body rubs, hand lotions, after-shave lotions, and many other cosmetics. Ingestion or inhalation of large quantities of the vapor may cause flushing, headache, dizziness, mental depression, nausea, vomiting, narcosis, anesthesia, and coma Beta-naphthol: Used in hair dyes, skin-peeling preparations, hair tonics, and perfumes. Fatal poisoning from external applications has been reported. Benzene: Used in nail polish removers. Harmful amounts may be absorbed through the skin. Evidence is mounting that it also causes leukemia. Aniline / Dyes: The most commonly used organic base for dyes. It is toxic when ingested, inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Quartenary Ammonium Compounds: Used in aerosol deoderants, after-shave lotions, antidandruff shampoos, antiperspirants, cuticle softeners, hair colorings, hair- grooming aids, hand creams, hair- waving preparations, mouth-washes, hand creams and regular shampoos. All the quartenary ammonium compounds can be toxic, depending upon the dose and concentration. Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHA): Used primarily in skin peels by professionals. AHA' s can increase sensitivity to sunburns and subsequently, skin cancer For a more extensive list of the toxins in cosmetic ingredients, from Miessence Certified Organics, download this Free Ebook, Toxic Ingredients.
