Organic Products Guide - Part 2"Your definitive source of
information you can use on organic products"
What's
Wrong with this Picture In 1950, 1 million
pounds of
synthetic
chemicals
were
made. In the year 2000, 40 billion pounds were
made.
That's
40,000 times more chemicals made and
marketed - just 50 years later. I understand the term, "non- organic products" to mean not naturally produced. Again, plain and simple. When you add synthetic chemicals to anything, it's no longer organic. That's not to say that all synthetic chemicals are bad. Some have been documented to contain "no known cancer-causing carcinogens." I believe that to be a good health practice.
You could say that all synthetic chemicals are, by their nature, non- organic products. Not natural substances, but designed in labs. Commercial manufacturers either produce lots of products from them or add them to nearly every product they make. And I do mean very close to 100% of everything that's made. So, this is where things get
really crazy. Scientists
have discovered so much about synthetic chemicals, and many of their
discoveries are not good. Discoveries that are making
the health and environmental
impact of most of those
synthetic chemicals huge threats. Threats that exist in your
schools, your hospitals,
every place you work and play. Indoors or outdoors, you
cannot escape their potentially
deadly effects... Potentially
Toxic Household Products Checklist
David Versus Goliath You might ask: Why do the giant corporations do it? Why do they continue to use synthetic chemicals? Chemicals that are being shown to cause cancer in humans, or even worse. I would reply: For the money, obviously. But you know and I know that's not the only reason. The real answer is disgusting.
They do it because they can. The FDA is so far behind with its product evaluations. The agency will never catch up to these guys. In the mean time, these Goliaths can just market whatever they feel like, with little or no safety testing. And no conscience about the damage they're doing to our health and to the environment. Every year, we're getting
sicker and sicker. It's time to take steps to
protect your health--and your
family's. The Why of the Organic Products Guide I want to bring all the things I've learned--and am still learning--about various products and ingredients to one place, and share them with you. To have you add your comments on organic and non-organic products to my site. Problems or satisfaction, you are free to add to my site. I designed the Organic Products Guide website as a way to help you sort out information about products that are truly organic, from those that are non-organic or use synthetic and, quite possibly, hazardous chemicals in their ingredients.
